About

We are the Generative AI Research Lab located in the School of Computing and Frontier AI Research Centre at Macquarie University.

Our lab focuses on advancing Generative AI methods for real-world applications, including:

• Diffusion models/rectified flows, image autoregressive models
• Generative model distillation methods
• Aligning Pre-Trained generative models with Reinforcement Learning
• Reasoning in Pre-trained generative models
• Applications in image/video editing, large language models

News

• November 2025: One paper about federated learning in temporal point process is accepted at Artificial Intelligence
• October 2025: Xuhui will work as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology. Thanks for the invitation.
• September 2025: One paper about rectangular bounding process is accepted at T-PAMI
• September 2025: One paper about pre-trained diffusion model distillations is accepted at NeurIPS-25
• August 2025: Xuhui will work as an Associate Editor for Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research. Thanks for the invitation.
• July 2025: Parinya Sodsai has joined, working on Human Feedback Reinforcement Learning on Pre-Trained Diffusion Models. Welcome on board!
• May 2025: One paper about representation learning in diffusion models is accepted at KDD-25. Congrats to Zhangkai!
• April 2025: One paper about federated learning accepted at IEEE-TNNLS.
• March 2025: Launched the Macquarie Generative AI Research Group.
